The Australasian Fleet Managers Association (AfMA) has partnered with Swinburne University to develop a Diploma of Leadership and Management, aimed at providing the skills required by fleet managers and other automotive professionals.

The course creates a pathway to a Graduate Certificate in Business Management (Fleet Management) launched this year.

With 50 per cent of all new vehicles sold in Australia during 2016 going to fleet customers, vehicle manufacturers and dealerships are also starting to realise the value in training dedicated staff to handle fleet business.

In the UK, vehicle manufacturer SEAT is looking to improve services to fleet customers by introducing a fleet excellence program. After meeting a minimum fleet sales volume, staff will be trained to understand the delivery and invoicing requirements of leasing companies, which are very different to a retail sale.
