ELECTRIC CAR NAMED NORTH AMERICAN CAR OF THE YEAR

For the first time ever, a fully-electric car has been named North American Car of the Year.

The Chevrolet Bolt beat the Volvo S90 and Genesis G90, adding the award to other honours including the Motor Trend Car of the Year, Green Car Journal Green Car of the Year and a place in the Car & Driver 10 Best.

Judges cited the Bolt’s 200-plus mile (320-plus kilometre) range and affordability as key factors in their decision.

The Chrysler Pacifica won the Utility Vehicle of the Year award, beating the Jaguar F-Pace and the Mazda CX-9.
